Artist's Statement:
For me, making art is an intuitive process. I explore cosmological themes and strive for the sublime, the energy of love and beauty. Through this spiritual quest, I am able to realize personal and poetic realities, which provide me with insight and a unique means for communicating and connecting with others.

Artist's Biography:
A graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design in painting, Carolyn Stuart also studied color at Phillips Exeter Academy and metals at the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. Her experience as an artist has been shaped and guided by her time spent at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
Following in the tradition of painters--such as Picasso, Miró and Leger--who have also designed jewelry, she is a gifted jewelry designer and photographer. Her designs in 18-karat and 22-karat jewelry have been sold by Quadrum Gallery in Chestnut Hill, Mass., the Goldsmith at Copley Place, and Bailey Banks & Biddle.

Stuart’s photographs have appeared in national publications, and her artwork is represented in the collections of numerous individuals, businesses, and organizations, including CareGroup, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and the Pushcart Café in Boston's historic North End. Her paintings have been shown in individual and group exhibitions in galleries across New England, as well as the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has a unique quality of transcendence, thanks to its color, grace and sensitivity.
